The Chester White originated in Chester County, Pennsylvania.  They have a high conception rate and tend to have big litters.  The Chester White is a stress free gene and showed superior meat quality.  They are preferred by producers and packers because of there white color.  They tend to have lopped ears and are primarily a meat pig.  They also have superior quality meat. Chester Whites will remain an important breed in the future progress of swine production for many years to come because of the many productive traits, which they strongly possess.
